Benjamin A. Jacobs

Benjamin A. “Ben” Jacobs joined Gatton & Associates, P.C., as an Associate Attorney in November 2024. Previously, he served as Associate Attorney for The Askew Law Firm, LLC, in Albuquerque.

Ben graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of New Mexico (UNM) School of Law in 2017 where he earned his Juris Doctor and is a member of the Order of the Coif. He also served as manuscript editor for the New Mexico Law Review. His Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies came from the University of Kansas.

Ben was a research assistant at the UNM School of Law and the University of Houston Law Center. He served as legal extern for the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of New Mexico, for the First Judicial District Court in Santa Fe and for Law Access New Mexico. Before attending law school, Ben was a public school teacher in various school districts within New Mexico, teaching social studies, language arts and reading and special education to middle school, high school and adult students.

When not working with clients, Ben enjoys outdoor cooking, with a particular focus on learning to prepare the perfect brisket. An avid sports fan, he also enjoys outdoor activities, reading biographies and spending time with family both in New Mexico and his home state of Oklahoma.
